Ringo's 2025 QB Sleepers

*Note- some of these calls aren’t sleepers just players I think could have a good year. It’s difficult to find a true sleeper in today’s fantasy football landscape, but I’ll do my best to uncover some longshots in larger leagues or leagues with deeper rosters.

Gentlemen (and ladies) welcome to Ringo’s Top Gun. In case some of you wonder who’s the best? The best of the best is listed here. The elite. At Sleepers and Busts, we’ll make you better.

*Note #2- Thank you to all of our men and women in the military who serve and protect us in the States and around the world, as well as the veterans who have already served.

Josh Allen
Josh Allen is simply incredible. Even without a star studded cast, he continues to be a dominant fantasy QB. Just think what he could do if TE Dalton Kincaid can stay healthy and if WR Keon Coleman takes a step forward. Just in case that doesn’t happen, the Bills brought in former Charger, WR Joshua Palmer, to help the offense.

Drake Maye
The Patriots desperately wanted to trade down, but found no takers. They addressed their biggest weakness, offensive line, by taking OT Will Campbell. They also brought in Stefon Diggs and rookies RB TreVeon Henderson and WR Kyle Williams to add some juice in a stagnant offense. Like the Bears, they got their guy, former player Mike Vrabel, to lead them. Maye showed glimpses last year. Unlike Jerry Seinfeld, I don’t love ”The Drake”, but I like him. If I miss out on my higher ranked QBs, I’m willing to take a shot with The Drake. However, I would make sure I have a veteran signal caller in case Ringo has to yell Mayday! That said, if New England can protect him, Drake could take another step forward in 2025.

When Josh and Drake aren’t battling against each other on the football field, the rivalry continues to see who is the master of ping pong. Haha!

Lamar Jackson
As long as Derrick Henry’s play is dominant, Lamar Jackson should continue to thrive. Henry is the perfect thunder in this thunder and lightning combo which ran roughshod through NFL defenses last season. As long as Lamar stays healthy, he seems poised for another solid season.

Jayden Daniels
Washington not only added OT Josh Conerly in the draft, but also brought in Pro Bowl LT Laremy Tunsil in a trade with Houston, which give the Commanders one of the best offensive lines they've fielded in years. They also traded a fifth found pick for WR Deebo Samuel, whose YAC (yards after catch) is one of the best in the league. The new fortified offensive line, should propel not just Daniels, but the entire Washington offense (McLaurin, Brian Robinson Jr., Ekeler, Ertz, etc.) to even greater heights in 2025. I think Daniels is sitting on a huge year.

Red seven! Red seven!! Red seven!!! Hot route! Hot route!! Haha!

Patrick Mahomes
The last few years I’ve ranked Mahomes pretty high and the last few years I’ve been burned worse than Jack Chester played by the late John Candy in the movie Summer Rental (see link below). So I figured, what’s one more year? Haha!

The Chiefs have a really nice schedule on paper. They play a lot of shaky defenses. And the additions of LT Jaylon Moore and rookie LT Josh Simmons should help keep the pass rushers off Mahomes. WR Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown are expected to be back healthy and Xavier Worthy has another year of experience under his belt. Travis Kelce decided to return in what might be his swan song. The biggest concern I have is the Chiefs’ defense. They’re pretty good and that limits Mahomes’ passing stats. Still, it’s hard for me to bet against Patrick. He’s one of the best QBs I’ve ever seen, although I kind of liked that Patrick wasn’t in any of the commercials, haha!

Jared Goff
Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson might be gone, but the main pieces of the Lions’ potent offense remains in tact. If you don’t get one of the top QBs, Goff is a good bet. Jared leads one of the best offenses in the league and the Lions should be involved in plenty of shootouts. It doesn’t hurt that Jared plays in a dome for half of his games.

Justin Fields
The new regime moved on from future Hall-of-Famers QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Davante Adams. We’ll see how that works out. In Pittsburgh, the Steelers wanted to keep Fields, but at their price. The Jets jumped in and made Justin an offer he couldn’t refuse. They also added rookie OT Armand Membou and TE Mason Taylor in the draft. Fields’ biggest strength is his rushing ability. He’s also reunited with his former college teammate, Garrett Wilson.

Sophomore QB Jordan Travis retired on the advice of his doctor. Jordan suffered a brutal knee injury at Florida State and unfortunately wasn’t able to make a full recovery. The runway is clear for Justin Fields to take off in 2025. He’ll need to use his legs to rack up those rushing points. Those rushing points are the key to Fields’ fantasy success in 2025.

The fantasy football rules are simple. Once you go in Ringo’s QB Sleepers article, you don’t come out. He’s The Duke of New York…A Number One!

Caleb Williams
Caleb was seen partying with three models at a Miami restaurant in early May. I can’t say I blame him. I’d be partying too after what the Bears did this offseason. Chicago was very un-Bears-like and opened up their wallet. I think there was dust from the prehistoric era that came out this past spring, haha! The additions of veterans Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman, and Jonah Jackson should fortify the line. In the draft, they added OT Ozzy Trapilo. Chicago also drafted TE Colston Loveland and WR Luther Burden, in addition to getting the hottest coaching candidate on the market in former Lions coach, Ben Johnson. All of this sets up well for Caleb Williams to have a good year in 2025 and in the future.

However, if Caleb struggles, the Bears’ offense could take a dive. (WARNING the first video below is graphic and might be disturbing to some viewers. Parental discretion is advised. The hunters were culling the bear population in Canada. Ringo gives the bear’s dive a 9.5. Good form. Stayed still, degree of difficulty was tough with the backward pike, but didn’t stick the landing. The East German judge lowballed him for that with only a 8.3. The gold went to Thornton Melon for his Triple Lindy dive. The degree of difficulty was a 10 and he performed it flawlessly, haha!)

Trevor Lawrence
The Jags pulled off a shocker in the draft. They went up and got their guy, CB/WR Travis Hunter. Hunter along with Brian Thomas Jr. should form a lethal combination at WR. That makes life easier for Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville also hired Tampa Bay's former offensive coordinator, Liam Coen, to be their head coach. Coen contributed to Baker Mayfield's fantasy comeback the past two seasons. Even with the losses of Christian Kirk and Evan Engram in the offseason, Trevor Lawrence appears to be in line for a career year, if the Jags can protect him. Lawrence's current ADP at QB 20 seems very cheap when you factor in the improving situation in Jacksonville. If you fade Trevor this year don’t be surprised if you’re singing this tune by the end of the year, “I fought T-Law and…T-Law won. I fought T-Law and…T-Law won!”

Ringo's 2025 QB Busts

Here are some players that I don’t like in 2025. Some could be busts, while others seem overvalued with their current price tag (consensus ranking being too high).

Joe Burrow
Joe Cool recovered from surgery and the results were impressive. He and Ja’Marr Chase are one of the most lethal combinations in the league. The only concern is the amount of hits he takes. He’s really taken a beating year in and year out. If he can stay healthy, he’ll do well. He’s so talented and his poise under pressure is incredible. Unfortunately he’s pretty expensive now with a current consensus ranking at QB 5. So for that reason, I’ll probably pass on him unless he slips a little in my draft.

Baker Mayfield
(7/10) UPDATE Tampa’s best offensive lineman, Tristan Wirfs, is going to miss the start of the season. He injured his MCL (knee) last season and it had more damage than the Bucs’ brass originally thought. Wirfs will now undergo surgery. That’s not good news for the Buccaneers’ offense. I’m moving everyone (Baker, Bucky, Evans, etc.) down a few pegs without the all-pro anchoring the line.

What a comeback Baker has had in Tampa. It’s even better than when Cosmo Kramer returned as a baker to H & H bagels. Unfortunately, he’s ranked much higher now, and that’s a little too high, especially given a tougher schedule, for the fantasy football analyst whose bad advice & terrible jokes give the most bagels, Mark Ringo.

Just like with Cal Naughton Jr., Ringo thinks Shake and Bake is dead. Baker is getting a new nickname in 2025…..”The Magic Man”. Now you see him performing as a Top 10 fantasy QB. Now you don’t, haha!

Bo Nix
Bo knows baseball. Bo knows football. Bo knows basketball too. Bo knows tennis? Bo knows running. Bo knows weights. Bo knows fantasy football’s top 10 best QBs in 2025? No.

Nix is a good player, but inside the top 10 QBs is way too rich for Mark Ringo. Even with offensive guru, Sean Payton, calling the plays, I’m going to pass on Bo and let someone else pay that expensive price tag. I guess you could say Ringo is nixing that idea. If only Bo’s last name was kibosh, haha!

When it comes to telling funny jokes/puns…….Ringo, you don’t know diddly!

Just do it!

Brock Purdy
The 49’ers had a chance to address the offensive line in the first round but instead chose to address another need on the defensive line. Their offensive line is becoming an issue and if anything happens to Trent Williams, things will get shakier than the earthquake in 1989. In addition, Brandon Aiyuk is trying to come back from a torn ACL and Deebo Samuel was traded to Washington. The deck seems stacked against Purdy, who seems more like a game manager than a gunslinger imo, but San Fran ponied up big money to keep him- five years $265 million! Purdy’s consensus ranking isn’t on sale either- at QB 14. For those reasons, I’m out of Brock unless he slips in drafts.

Anyway, after San Francisco owner Jed York found some $ in a lost briefcase, here’s a snapshot of how things went down. Haha!

Jordan Love
Jordan Love has shown flashes, but I’m still not ready to rank him as a top ten fantasy QB. Even with the Pack drafting Matthew Golden in the first round, I want to see Jordan do it before I rank him high. Anyway, this is how it went down when I heard another fantasy analyst singing about Love’s 2024 fantasy outlook at a toga party this summer, haha! (see video below)

C.J. Stroud
C.J. is a tough one to get a read on. He had a really good rookie year, but regressed in 2024. Usually it’s the other way around. Houston added rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the draft. They also traded for veteran Christian Kirk. That should help offset the losses of Stefon Diggs in free agency and Tank Dell who is recovering from a gruesome knee injury suffered last season. However, the loss of all-pro LT Laremy Tunsil looms large, imo. Stroud was under constant duress last season, and that was with Tunsil. Without him, he might be in the hospital ward in a month. It’s hard, for me at least, to envision Stroud and the Texans’ offense thriving unless their offensive line improves, and I don’t see that happening this year. For those reasons, I’m out on most of the Texans’ offense unless they slide a lot in drafts, which I doubt will happen.

Sam Darnold
The good news is if you want Yosemite Sam, you can get him pretty cheap. His current consensus ranking is QB 27. That hardly qualifies as a bust. I listed him here because if he does poorly it will not only affect him, but the entire Seahawks’ offense. The Sam Darnold, I know and love, finally showed up last year and saw ghosts in the playoffs, when the Vikings got smoked by the Rams in Arizona, even with a partisan Vikings' crowd cheering them on. Seattle coughed up a lot of gold for Yosemite Sam ($100 million), which is a huge gamble considering how bad he looked in the playoffs. Without the stout Vikings' defense, offensive line, Justin Jefferson, and weather controlled climate to support him, I think Darnold will find the going to be a lot tougher in Seattle. Don’t forget about rookie QB Jalen Milroe. I wouldn’t be surprised if Seattle drew up some wildcat plays in the red zone for Milroe, which would further hurt Darnold’s fantasy outlook. So, when I say whoa, I mean whoa ya lily livered, no good, free-loading fantasy varmits!

Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough isn’t ranked high enough to be a bust. This bit is just for entertainment purposes, although Shough has had a difficult time staying healthy in college. Shough has a live arm and an exciting young coach in Kellen Moore. The Saints also drafted much needed help for their depleted offensive line with 1st round pick LT Kelvin Banks. However, after Tyler moved next door to me and called me a lame ass fantasy football writer, it was go time. This is how it went down. Haha!!!

Ringo's 2025 RB Sleepers

*Note- some of these calls aren’t sleepers just players I think could have a good year. It’s difficult to find a true sleeper in today’s fantasy football landscape, but I’ll do my best to uncover some longshots in larger leagues or leagues with deeper rosters.

Without further adieu, it’s time to start running!!!!!!

Saquon Barkley
There’s really not much to say about Saquon. He showed all of you that he still had plenty in the tank. And he showed what he can do with a good offensive line and all-pro players around him. Barkley played a big part in helping the Eagles win another Super Bowl title. Once again Ringo is letting is ride with Saquon.

Jahmyr Gibbs
Once again, not to sound like a broken record, but there’s not much to say. Gibbs is electric. Every time he touches the rock he’s a threat to go the distance. He plays on one of the best offenses in the league. He won’t be cheap in drafts, but he’s really good. Gibbayy!!!

Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty is an explosive, three-down back, who is an adept receiver too. Unfortunately, the other fantasy analysts have caught on to their previous bs excuses that rookies can’t do well. There won’t be a sale on Jeanty in drafts this summer. If you want him you’re going to have to pay full price (Jeanty’s consensus ranking is RB 4). He’s fairly valued because of his bell cow RB potential.

Bottom line- Jeanty is a talented playmaker capable of taking any touch to paydirt. He seems destined for fantasy stardom. It’s seems it’s not a question of if, but when he hits. Will it happen in 2025? That’s the question.

Ringo's comp- LaDainian Tomlinson.

Derrick Henry
Henry proved the doubters wrong and showed he’s still King of the fantasy mountain. Joining fellow star Lamar Jackson was a match made in heaven. I didn’t see any signs of a decline is his play. Those that doubt his powers, understand this. Derrick Henry is the most ruthless King in all of the NFL. As long as he stays healthy, he should have another good year and punish those who betray him.

Christian McCaffrey
Last year, CMac never got on track. His injury was severely under-reported. Hey, blame the 49’ers not me. I can only go by what they tell me. And all indications were he was going to be fine- ugh! Note to self- never trust John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan. Anyway, if he’s healthy, CMac is one of the best fantasy players in the league. Will he stay healthy? That’s the million dollar question.

Jonathan Taylor
Colts GM Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen are on the hot seat this year. Anthony Richardson will have to show more or it’s Daniel Jones running the offense. Either way, competition is a good thing for Jonathan Taylor. Taylor will get his regardless, but adding Jones increases his potential, imo. The Colts also drafted highly regarded TE Tyler Warren in the first round to boost the offense. Warren’s biggest strength might be his blocking ability of which Taylor will be the main beneficiary. It’s a must win year for the Colts, so I’m figuring they’ll lean on their best player. And without a doubt, that’s Jonathan “The Tool Man” Taylor.

We need more power for our fantasy teams. For that I will demonstrate the art of karate (pronounced ka-rah-teh). I must channel that power through focus and concentration. Fortunately, those are two things Mark Ringo excels at, haha! Taylor is fairly valued at RB 10, but seems in store for another solid year. Jonathan! Jonathan!! Jonathan!!!

Omarion Hampton
(7/30) UPDATE- Teammate Najee Harris fluke eye injury is something to monitor. Harris was hurt when a firecracker injured his eye over the Fourth of July weekend and is without a timetable to return. As much as I want my picks to click, I never root for injuries. I’m praying Najee is okay. That said, my duty is to report the latest fantasy news and give my take. This is something to monitor very closely. If for some reason Najee Harris is sidelined for any length of time, Omarion Hampton’s draft stock skyrockets into the stratosphere (aka early first round), imo. And yes, I would still take him there. Below is what I wrote back on July 2nd before learning about Najee’s injury, with no timetable to return. I had previously heard he would be ready for week one, which is why I didn’t update it. Now, I’m not so sure.

Omarion Hampton isn’t the fastest RB and he’s not the most elusive. No one is going to mistake him for Saquon with his or rather lack there of Shake and Bake. But “The Hammer” is a battering ram who consistently bounces off would be tacklers. And he’s won over coaches and scouts from across the country with his strong work ethic. Hampton is a hard worker who wants to be great. And unlike many RBs, Omarion has the ability to be one of the few workhorse backs in the league with his build and his prowess to catch passes. My only concern is how much of a workload he’ll get this year? The Chargers signed Najee Harris, but only to a one-year deal. Still though, Hampton could very well take the lead in this RB committee sometime during the season. And if he does, there are a lot of touches there for the taking.

The Chargers brass gushes about him. L.A. targeted him in the draft and took him in the first round. Folks, you don’t take a guy in the first round and not use him, well unless you’re the Falcons that is, haha! Kyle Pitts, good lord wth man? Why? Just why did Atlanta do that? Anyway, I digress…..Jim Harbaugh called Hampton a four down RB. That’s sounds pretty good to me. Jim Harbaugh and Greg Romans want to run the ball….a lot. They want to play physical smashmouth old school football and assert their will on their opponent. And Omarion can run it behind a really good offensive line with Rashawn Slater, Joe Alt, and newly signed Mekhi Becton opening up holes for him. Hampton could be the guy who starts off under the radar in fantasy leagues, but by later in the year could very well be leading shrewd drafters to titles. You can’t touch this. Stop! Hammer Time!

Ringo’s comp- Hampton reminds me a little of former Steelers’ all-pro RB Barry Foster. You youngsters can check out Barry Foster in the first video below.

David Montgomery
I’m not sure why Monty is still undervalued by the experts. His role is the same as last year. He’s in a RBBC and will see the bulk of the short yardage runs in one of the best offenses in the league.

Fantasy football fans, my brothers of the sword. I’d rather fight besides you than any army of thousands. Let no man forget how menacing we are. We are Lions! Do you know what’s there? Waiting…beyond that draft? Immortality. Take it! It’s yours!

TreVeon (aka Tre) Henderson
Well the Patriots didn’t draft Tre Henderson for his charming personality. Obviously they aren’t happy with Rhamondre Stevenson. One more fumble and it could be game over for Dre. The Pats are going to use Henderson. It’s just a matter of how much? Henderson had some injuries in college. He’s only 202 lbs. Henderson might be best suited for a platoon role to limit the wear and tear. However, on the flip side, he has a three down skill set. According to scouts, Henderson has advanced pass protection skills which will keep him on the field. And the word is that Ohio St absolutely loved Henderson. Tre is a team first guy. That will no doubt endear him to new head coach, Mike Vrabel. With a current consensus ranking around RB 25, Tre Henderson’s price tag seems about fairly priced given his talent and upside.

Ringo’s comp- I agree with scouts. Henderson reminds me a little of Aaron Jones. Both are about the same build, unselfish, team first players, with a good, all-around skillset.

Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson seems very cheap at his current consensus ranking- RB 26. He's got size (6'1" 225 lbs.) and plays faster than his 4.57 forty time suggests. Despite the possibility that Kaleb might not be a big factor in the passing game, he’s still very talented. Maturity issues caused him to slip to day two, but he’s considered to be a first round talent by many scouts.

Ringo's comp- Kaleb Johnson reminds me of former Chiefs' all-pro RB Larry Johnson. For you youngsters, the first video is Larry Johnson.

R.J. Harvey
Denver wanted more explosive playmakers on offense and they got one with Harvey. RJ can fly. Sean Payton figures to use him plenty in both the run and passing game. Note- the Broncos also signed J.K. Dobbins. Perhaps they prefer RBs without vowels in their first name, haha! Ahem…anyway, Dobbins seems more like a depth piece than a threat to Harvey. Audric Estime returns. He’s a bigger RB. He could be used in short yardage and possibly down near the goal line if Sean Payton wants to go in that direction.

Given his potential for big plays because of his blistering speed, Harvey seems fairly valued with a consensus ranking around RB 26.

Brian Robinson Jr.
Washington not only added OT Josh Conerly in the draft, but also brought in Pro Bowl LT Laremy Tunsil in a trade with Houston, which give the Commanders one of the best offensive lines they've fielded in years. The new fortified offensive line, should propel not just Robinson, but the entire Washington offense (Daniels, McLaurin, Samuel, Ekeler, Ertz, etc.) to even greater heights in 2025.

Jordan Mason
The Vikings went out and traded for Jordan Mason this past offseason. They’ve got to like him a little bit to trade away one of their few draft picks. When Mason got opportunities in San Francisco, he looked good. Mason has good size 5’11” 223 lbs. and is adept at catching the ball out of the backfield. Aaron Jones is the lead back, but he’s 30 and has had a difficult time staying healthy. If Jones goes down, Mason could suddenly find himself in a bell cow role. And on a good defensive team like the Vikings, that could mean a lot of opportunities in close games for Mason to flourish.

Trey Benson
(7/01) UPDATE From what I’m hearing, it sounds like James Conner is still the lead back in Arizona. NBC’s Matthew Berry reported that Arizona loves Conner. Trey tried for too many home run plays and doesn’t take what’s there. Coaches hate that because instead of getting a more manageable down and distance it becomes 2nd or 3rd and long.

Benson’s freshman season was cut short due to injury. However, it’s worth mentioning that Conner usually misses a few games with injuries. Benson has good size and speed to be a bell cow back if given the chance. And with Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyler Murray more familiar with one another, there are a lot of TD opportunities in Arizona if anything happens to Conner. Keep an eye on this situation during the summer, but after hearing Matthew’s report, I’m tempering my expectations for Benson. He’s pretty dialed in with his sources from around the league.

Jaylen Wright LONGSHOT PICK
If you're looking for someone further down the draft rankings, don't forget about Jaylen Wright. Wright takes over for Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson in the Dolphins' RBBC, both of whom are no longer in Miami. Wright showed off his blistering speed at the NFL combine back in 2024 with a sizzling 4.38 forty time. He's a threat to score every time he touches the rock. And, if anything happens to Devon Achane, Wright's fantasy outlook would suddenly become very interesting.

Ringo's comp- Jaylen Wright reminds me a little of former Chiefs' all-pro RB Jamaal Charles. (see video of Jamaal Charles in first video below- Click Watch on YouTube)

Bhayshul Tuten LONGSHOT PICK
The word on the street, per Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, is that the new regime in Jacksonville is not very high on RB Travis Etienne. Remember, it was former Jaguars' GM Trent Baalke who drafted Etienne, not current GM James Gladstone. Etienne is in the last year of his contract. It’s possible that he gets traded. Gladstone drafted Bhayshul Tuten so at least he’s one of Gladstone’s guys. However, I’ve also heard that, like many rookie RBs, Tuten needs to improve his pass blocking skills. Until he does, that could limit his opportunities. Keep an eye on this situation as the summer progresses. There could be a lot of TDs available in Duval County if we can figure out who will be the Jaguars’ RB running them in.

When it comes to Bhayshul "Rootin'" Tuten, his talent is obvious. He's the fastest RB north, south, east, and west of the Pecos, in the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Yosemite Sam Ringo.

Ringo's comp- a smaller version of former Bronco and Redskin, Clinton Portis. (see second video below to see how good Portis was)

Braelon Allen LONGSHOT PICK LARGE LEAGUES 12+ WITH DEEP ROSTERS
Breece Hall has had a tough time staying healthy. This pick is similar to a golfer playing the wind. We never root for a player to get injured, but the fact is that the NFL is a violent sport which has a long grueling season and injuries happen. And if it happens to Hall, Allen would most likely be the main beneficiary. He looked good last year. And worse case, he’s still in a RBBC. There’s a world where Braelon Allen becomes a rare bell cow RB and those are very valuable in fantasy football, especially on a run heavy team which the Jets figure to be.

Marshawn Lloyd LONGSHOT PICK LARGE LEAGUES 12+ WITH DEEP ROSTERS
L
loyd has a good RB build 5’9” 220 lbs to handle a bell cow role if Jacobs were to go down. What’s really impressive is his speed for a RB his size. Lloyd has a burst where he just runs away from defenders (see video below). He has good vision and his pass protection skills are good enough to get him on the field in passing downs, unlike many rookies. The main concern is his propensity to put the ball on the ground. Lloyd had eight fumbles in three seasons in college. He’ll need to clean that up if he wants to avoid the bench. That said, Lloyd has some serious burst. Moreso than either Jacobs or Emanuel. If Lloyd ever gets a shot, he could become an overnight fantasy sensation, much like yours truly, haha!

Miles Sanders RINGO’S LONGSHOT SPECIAL LARGE LEAGUES 12+ WITH DEEP ROSTERS
Ringo’s hot take- most analysts are assuming Javonte Williams is going to win the starting gig in Dallas. And while he still could, I’m hearing that it’s been Miles Sanders who has been the more impressive of the two so far. Sanders has shown more burst and you can see it in their play in last year’s highlights. Williams, at least last year, has lost a step due to the severe knee injury he suffered a few years ago. That’s why Sean Payton cut him- per former scout and Cowboys insider, Bryan Broaddus. According to Broaddus (and I’m paraphrasing here), Payton spoke highly of Williams’ work ethic and willingness to pass block, but at the end of the day wanted more burst and explosiveness from his RB and thus Denver drafted R.J. Harvey. If Dallas doesn’t trade for or pickup another RB, (note- they still could, perhaps Dameon Pierce?) I expect Miles Sanders to win the Cowboys’ starting gig over Javonte Williams. Note, rookie Jaydon Blue is too undersized to have anything more than a role on passing downs. Even if this happens, will Sanders threaten Saquon Barkley or Bijan for the top RB in fantasy? Probably not, but he could be a top 20-30 RB, which isn’t a bad profit for a guy ranked at the bottom of many analysts rankings right now. Keep an eye on this situation as the summer progresses. See video below of Sanders best season- it happened only a few seasons ago back in 2022- click Watch on YouTube)

Montrell Johnson Jr. IMPROBABLE LONGSHOT PICK LARGE LEAGUES 12+ WITH DEEP ROSTERS
If you're looking for an improbable deep longshot, I still like Montrell Johnson Jr.'s talent. He has ideal size, speed, and receiving ability to be a bell cow, if he’s healthy and given the chance. Montrell went undrafted, but shortly thereafter, signed with the Eagles. Time will tell if he makes the team or eventually lands somewhere else, but Montrell Johnson Jr. is a very talented lottery ticket that I'm willing to take a shot with, and he's going very late (Current Consensus Redraft Rankings RB 149 Current Consensus Dynasty- Rookie Draft Rankings RB 30).

Ringo's comp- a faster version of former Broncos Hall-of-Fame RB, Terrell Davis (see first video below to see how good Terrell Davis was)

Ringo's 2025 RB Busts

It’s time for everyone’s favorite fantasy football game show where drafters try for big time players and try to avoid the whammy. It’s time to Press Your Luck! Below are the intro and extended theme songs.

Here are some players that I don’t like in 2025. Some could be busts, while others seem overvalued with their current price tag (consensus ranking being too high).

Kyren Williams
I’m not sure if I’d call Kyren a bust, but maybe a potential disappointment. While Kyren played all seventeen games last season, plus the playoffs, it’s clear he wore down. He wasn’t able to consistently generate big plays. Kyren garners a lot of his fantasy value from volume, not from explosive runs. And that’s a dangerous bet to make if he suddenly loses some of that volume.

In addition, Williams is in the final year of his contract. It’s noteworthy that instead of extending him, the Rams traded up in the draft to select Jarquez Hunter. Hunter was First Team All-SEC at Auburn. One of the big reasons why is his ability to take it the distance. The Rams could spell Williams more with Hunter or last year’s pick Blake Corum. With a current consensus ranking at RB 11, Kyren Williams seems like a risky pick in 2025.

Josh Jacobs
In his first year with the Pack, Jacobs had a solid year. He scored a whopping 16 TDs. That seems unsustainable. However, Jacobs only rushed for over 100 yards in three games. Marshawn Lloyd was injured much of last year. Both he and Emmanuel Wilson figure to spell Jacobs enough to be a thorn in his fantasy side. Jacobs is a good player, but his current consensus ranking at RB 9 seems too high, especially if his TD total comes back down to earth.

However, throughout their storied history, when it comes to Packer legends, there is only one man that comes to mind. He dazzles both on and off the field. First he cut to his right, then he cut to his left, then he ran 100 yards for a TD! Women want him and guys want to be like him. Okay two men…..Phil Packer and Mark Ringo. Haha! (click Watch on YouTube in the videos below)

Chase Brown
Chase “The Buster” Brown proved me wrong last season. Despite the Bengals going out and signing Zack Moss, Brown won the gig and rewarded drafters with a solid season.

Yo Ringo, why did you mention that The Buster had a good year?

Because last year, The Buster kept many fantasy drafters from missing the playoffs. He didn’t just run back to the bench. The Buster brought them back!

However, that 2024 discount price is long gone. If you want him in 2025, it’s going to cost you. Brown’s current consensus ranking is RB 12. That’s too risky for Mark Ringo. Even with Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase healthy last season, Brown only had one game over one hundred yards. Cincinnati also brought in former Bengal, Samaje Perine. Perine will probably spell Brown on third downs. He’s very good in pass protection. That’s bad news for Brown who gained 360 receiving yards last season. Perine is also bigger than Brown and a threat to vulture TDs if the Bengals want to deploy him there. When it comes to picking Chase at his current ranking, I’m sure drafting him is completely safe. Haha!

You know Ringo….you still owe us readers a lame, ten second pun.

Bottom line- Ringo isn’t “Chasing” Brown’s lofty 2025 price tag. Ahem…thanks for coming out tonight. I’m here all week. Please remember to tip your servers, haha!

Breece Hall POTENTIAL BUST
Breece Hall is still being valued pretty high for a RB who is no longer a bell cow RB. In fact, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has hinted of a committee- possibly as large as three RBs comprising of Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis. We'll see if that turns out to be the case, but one thing is for certain, Breece Hall has had a difficult time staying healthy. Last season, Hall once again struggled with injuries, which limited his effectiveness. In addition, it's hard to imagine Hall's reception total going up without Aaron Rodgers at QB. Justin Fields is younger and faster, and much more likely to take off and run when there is pressure rather than dumping off a pass to his RB in the flat. Hall's 2025 fantasy outlook seems risky given his expensive price tag (current consensus ranking at RB 13).

Kenneth Walker III POTENTIAL BUST
The Sam Darnold, I know and love, finally showed up last year and saw ghosts in the playoffs, when the Vikings got smoked by the Rams in Arizona, even with a partisan Vikings' crowd cheering them on. Seattle coughed up $100 million for Darnold, which is a huge gamble considering how bad he looked in the playoffs. Without the stout Vikings' defense, offensive line, and weather controlled climate to support him, I think Darnold will find the going to be a lot tougher in Seattle. That's bad news for the Seahawks' offense, where young “Sky” Walker needs a lot of TDs to justify his current, lofty ranking at RB 16. And before you go….know this…….Kenneth, I am your father. No, not really. I can’t back that up, haha!

Alvin Kamara
Derek Carr’s sudden retirement means that New Orleans’ QB will be between Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, or rookie Tyler Shough as of early May. An optimist would say, “Hey, they’re just unproven.” The Saints could also try to trade for Kirk Cousins, but until then, the offense and fantasy prospects look bleak in the Crescent City.

As good as Kamara is, I do have major concerns about the Saints’ offense in 2025, That wasn’t bs. I mean really, what’s the point in picking him? New Orleans figures to struggle to score TDs this year. I’m not from New Orleans. I don’t plan on moving to New Orleans, so who cares if they score TDs or not? They could be Olympic gold medalists it still wouldn’t change the fact that Kamara doesn’t have a Carr.

It’s not that I condone picking players on the Saints with shaky QBs or any team with shaky QBs, for that matter. Shaky QBs, in my opinion, are not good for fantasy points. A person should not believe in a team with a shaky QB. He should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, “I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.”

Good point there. After all, he was The Walrus. I could be The Walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off people if I want Kamara to get into the endzone in 2025.

Joe Mixon POTENTIAL BUST
(7/26) BREAKING NEWS fresh off the wire….Ian Rapaport from The NFL Network is reporting that Joe Mixon is expected to miss extended time with a foot injury. This adds to my concerns with his ankle injury from last year. He might not be ready for week one. Even if he is, Houston signed veteran Nick Chubb and drafted rookie Woody Marks. That was a tell that Mixon might have a reduced workload and that Houston was concerned about Mixon’s health heading into 2025. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but then again maybe it wasn’t? When you throw in the fact that the Texans’ offensive line looks noticeably weaker without all-pro Laremy Tunsil, who was traded to Washington this past offseason, there are enough red flags that I’m going to fade the Texans’ offense in 2025. Houston, we have a problem.

Tony Pollard
Titans coach. Dave Callahan. indicated that they want to reduce Tony Pollard’s workload. He wore down in the second half. Remember, he also wore down when he was the primary RB in Dallas two years ago. Expect Tyjae Spears and possibly rookie Kalel Mullings to siphon more touches away from Pollard. Mullings could vulture short yardage and goal line carries since he’s a bigger RB and a better option to handle the punishment a RB takes in close quarters. Cam Ward could upgrade the Titans’ offense, however, less touches and possible getting pulled at the goal line makes Pollard a risky bet in 2025.

Aaron Jones POTENTIAL BUST
Aaron Jones isn’t getting any younger. He’s had injury issues in the past. The Vikes brought in Jordan Mason to help ease his workload. Mason is bigger and will probably get the call in short-yardage and at the goal line. The following scene is blurred out because some tv networks are a bunch of tools. Seriously, no one even remembers some of these sit-coms from over twenty years ago. I’m actually doing them a favor by promoting them. Anyway, even though the video is blurry, you can still listen to the audio. It’s pretty funny. Pencil, haha!

Travis Etienne
The word on the street, per Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, is that the new regime in Jacksonville is not very high on RB Travis Etienne. Remember it was former Jaguars’ GM Trent Baalke who drafted Etienne, not current GM James Gladstone. Gladstone drafted Bhayshul Tuten and he could takeover the starting gig at some point this season if the Jaguars hang on to Etienne. Unless Etienne goes to another team, his outlook for 2025 seems iffy.

Rhamondre Stevenson
The writing appears to be on the wall for Rhamondre. Stevenson fumbled seven times last season. The Patriots thought so little of Stevenson that they drafted TreVeyon Henderson in the second round. New coach Mike Vrabel and current GM Elliot Wolf won’t put up with turnovers. At best, Stevenson will be part of a RBBC. At worst, he’ll ride the pine or be cut. Stevenson current ranking at RB 34 is a wicked pissah (translation- seems pretty high for a RB who appears to be on the outs in New England).

Matthew Berry, Andy Behrens, and Evan Silva are all rock stars in this industry, now I’ve got to show the fantasy football world what I can do.

What up fantasy football fans!! For your consideration, here comes fantasy football’s biggest up and coming star…..Mark Ringo!!! Ringo doesn’t mean to be the dunk king when it comes to Rhamondre’s 2025 outlook, but fantasy fans who draft Stevenson at his current ADP could be looking at another Boston Massacre. Do you like donuts in your lineup? How do you like them donuts? I’m sorry. I had to. Haha!

Cam Skattebo
Cam is a hard nosed runner, whose greatest strength is his ability to break tackles. How tenacious is Cam? He reminds me of Uncle Pecos from Tom & Jerry. He never gives up until he gets his guitar (pronounced) “geetar” string, haha! (see videos below part 1 and part 2)

However, the main issue I have is his lack of speed and explosiveness. Cam is downright slow for a RB (forty time 4.65). That might cut it in the Big 12, but not in the NFL, especially when you have to play the defending champion Eagles twice a year who have Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis clogging the middle. The lack of speed, combined with the Giants' shaky offensive line, is not a good combo for a player currently ranked at Rookie RB 7, imo. Ringo does love saying his name though...Skattebo!!!

Ringo's 2025 WR Sleepers

*Note- some of these calls aren’t sleepers just players I think could have a good year. It’s difficult to find a true sleeper in today’s fantasy football landscape, but I’ll do my best to uncover some longshots in larger leagues or leagues with deeper rosters.

Ja’Marr Chase
There’s not much to say. If Ja’Marr and Joe Burrow stay healthy, Chase is in store for another big year.

Please pass to all-pro Ja’M-arr.
Excuse me, please pass to all-pro Ja’M-arr.
Please pass to all-pro Ja’M-arr.
Would you please pass to jelly? Haha!

You’ll call him fantastic. You’ll call him remarkable. But please don’t dare call him jelly, haha!

Malik Nabers
Malik Nabers lived up to the billing and more last year. Nabers finished at WR 7 and that was with him missing two games and having Daniel Jones and Drew Lock behind a shaky offensive line. The Giants appeared to have upgraded QB, at least on paper. The G-Men went out and signed veteran Russell Wilson. If healthy, Wilson will be the starter. The concern is for how long? I’m starting to hear that Jaxson Dart will see the field sometime in 2025. Also, is Malik healthy? He’s had issues with hi toe since college. He also missed OTA’s. That may be nothing or it may be something. Keep an eye on it. Finally, will the Giants line hold up? it’s not exactly the best unit when it comes to pass protection.

Still, it’s hard to bet against Nabers. He’s one of the most exciting WRs in the league. Malik Nabers is “ The Real Deal” with your host Mark Ringo. Hmnn…Ringo doesn’t rhyme as well in that jingle as Bill McNeal does, haha!

Ringo’s comp- Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill
Ok, I’ll admit this call is sort of a gamble. The gamble isn’t so much with Tyreek Hill. He’s awesome! Last year he played through a wrist injury. Tyreek is healthy now. The risk centers around the Dolphins’ offense. Can Tua stay healthy? His concussion history is worrisome. The odds are against him. And if Tua goes down, does he take Tyreek’s fantasy chances with him? Zach Wilson is the backup. Zach hasn’t lived up to his draft pedigree, but perhaps without the pressure of being a starter, he can have a resurgence like Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield did when they left for greener pastures?

Keep in mind, the Dolphins are selling assets, if their season goes south there’s also the possibility that Miami trades Hill to a contender like Kansas City, Buffalo, Washington, etc. Note, the Miami just traded Jonnu Smith on June 30th, so there are some receptions available for the taking, at least as of right now. Hill is only one season removed from 2023 where he put up….119 receptions 1,799 yards and 13 TDs. With a consensus ranking at WR 14, Hill seems cheap. No matter how you slice it, Tyreek is still one of the few WRs who has a legit chance of leading the league in receiving yards. Hill is on sale in 2025, I’m rolling the dice with Miami Vice.

Terry McLaurin
UPDATE (6/05) McLaurin is in the final year of his contract and negotiations aren’t going well. Keep an eye on this situation. This situation could trigger a holdout or a trade

If you thought last year was scary for Terry, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Washington actually has a line now. The Commanders traded for all-pro Laremy Tunsil and drafted rookie Josh Conerly. Both should fortify the line. That makes the talented young QB Jayden Daniels even more dangerous. And the more time he has, the more time Terry McLaurin has to get open and make big plays. Ringo is all-in on Washington in 2025. Daniels is sitting on a monster year and Terry McLaurin figures to be one of the main beneficiaries.

Stay calm. Lets not lose our heads. It’s a fine call. It’s going to work. It’s passable, okay. This isn’t terrible. I mean it’s up to you. Your opponents are either going to think here’s a terrible draft pick or here’s McLovin, the 29-year old Washington WR, who is an organ donor, suggested by Mark Ringo.

Davante Adams
Last year was a weird year for Davante Adams. He started out in Las Vegas and then was traded to the N.Y. Jets. He just never seemed to get his footing, even after being reunited with his buddy, Aaron Rodgers. I still think Adams has something left in the tank. And if he does, Matthew Stafford will find it. The former NFC North rivals have now joined forces. The match figures to be a good one. Puka Nacua is the highest ranked WR of the two, but it might be Adams who does better. Nacua has had a difficult time staying healthy. And if Puka gets hurt, Adams suddenly becomes very interesting. Davante’s current consensus ranking of WR 18 seems cheap given the potential for a resurgent year in L.A.

Marvin Harrison Jr.
Don’t look at me like that. I can feel your look. Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't live up to many fantasy drafters (and my) hopes or expectations last year. Sometimes it takes players a few years to make the leap. A lot of people wrote off another one of Ringo's picks, Jameson Williams, last year at this time and they're eating some tasty crow this summer. I like mine with honey mustard, haha! Anyway, I digress....I don't know if it's going to be this year, next year, or 2027, but sooner or later Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be a fantasy star. He's just too talented and dedicated to his craft not to reach his immense potential.

However, my readers view me with the same frustration like the TSA line at the airport did with John Candy’s character, Harry Crumb, in the movie, Who’s Harry Crumb? Or in my case, Who’s Mark Ringo? Scooter accident when I was a kid. I have a metal plate in my head? Ohh!!! It doesn’t hurt. Ugh!!! Haha!

D.K. Metcalf
This offseason has seen big changes in The Steel City. Both of last year’s starting QBs are gone, Najee Harris left, and George Pickens was traded to Dallas. However, Aaron Rodgers signed and that’s probably an upgrade from Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, at least when it comes to accuracy. Rodgers is one of the most accurate QBs of all-time. And he’s a major upgrade from Geno Smith, who Metcalf had throwing to him last season in Seattle. Even with conservative offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, Rodgers could unlock some of the massive potential D.K. Metcalf has as the undisputed number one WR in Pittsburgh. And if he does, it’s time to celebrate with the Discount DK check! Raji, drop it!

Side note- the third video below is a scene from one of my favorite movies, She’s Out of My League. Since it was shot in Pittsburgh, hail to the Steel City!

Jameson Williams
What a difference a year makes. Last year, I once again listed Jameson Williams on my sleepers list. Only, a funny thing happened. This time it actually worked, haha! The fantasy analyst who ranked Jameson the highest last season in the Draft Rankings for FantasyPros Accuracy contest wasn’t rock stars Sean Koerner, Jeff Ratcliffe, or Pat Fitzmaurice. It was yours truly, Mark Ringo. (Yep the same guy who somehow managed to finish 234th out of 235th in draft accuracy in 2023. Hey, anyone can finish first, it takes real talent to suck that bad in accuracy contests.) Last summer, this was a snapshot of how things looked. Fantasy Pros Expert Consensus Ranking WR 47 / Ringo’s Ranking WR 21). When the clock turned to all zeroes for the regular season, Jameson Williams finished at WR 19. F-ing A baby! No one else was even in the same zip code as ole’ Mark Ringo.

I’ve always loved Jameson’s talent and he finally showed why I liked him. Williams burst on to the season and made some big plays. Even with offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson gone, I think Jameson Williams will do well. The Lions are still one of the most explosive offenses in the league and a big reason why is the talented Williams who possesses blistering speed (see his 2024 highlights below). Jameson isn’t as cheap as last year- damn inflation! That said, he’s still a little undervalued this year with his consensus ranking at WR 27.

Travis Hunter
I don't think some of the fantasy football analysts realize just how talented Travis Hunter is, because if they did, they'd rank him a hell of a lot higher. Brian Thomas Jr, is awesome, but Hunter is tougher with contested catches and is a better route runner. The only concern I have is how many snaps he'll play, but with a current consensus ranking of only WR 31, I'll roll the dice based on his talent alone. That's in Ringo's draft neighborhood- very talented players who don't cost a lot. Travis Hunter is a rock star.

Ringo's comp- Travis Hunter reminds me of a lighter version of Ja'Marr Chase.

Deebo Samuel Sr.
Jayden Daniels is the best QB Deebo has ever played with. Washington not only added OT Josh Conerly in the draft, but also brought in Pro Bowl LT Laremy Tunsil in a trade with Houston, which give the Commanders one of the best offensive lines they've fielded in years. The new fortified offensive line, should propel not just Deebo, but the entire Washington offense (Daniels, McLaurin, Brian Robinson Jr., Ekeler, Ertz, etc.) to even greater heights in 2025.

Jauan Jennings LONGSHOT PICK
Brandon Aiyuk is coming off a torn ACL & MCL. His surgery was November 11th, which was later in the season. This is tougher than your garden variety ACL injury since it’s a multi ligament injury. It’s tough for athletes to come back from any major knee surgery the following year, much less a multi ligament injury involving the ACL. Deebo Samuel was traded to Washington. Things are setting up real nice for Jauan Jennings if the 49’ers stand pat and don’t bring in a free agent like Gabe Davis. Jennings had some real strong weeks last year after Aiyuk got hurt and he could be a sneaky sleeper. Keep an eye on the 49’ers’ WR room this summer.

Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last year. Normally, I’d steer clear of players coming back from reconstructive knee surgery, but the word on the street is that Diggs is ahead of his recovery timeline. Diggs is in a better situation, too. He left Houston and is now the top target in New England. If Diggs can stay in head coach Mike Vrabel’s good graces (aka not be an off the field distraction), and his knee continues to improve, he’s a bargain with his current consensus ranking at WR 43.

Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden
VALUE PICK & LONGSHOT PICK IN LARGER LEAGUES WITH DEEP ROSTERS
Basically, I’m in on Packers’ WRs. Last year, Jayden Reed played 2.5 games with backup QB Malik Willis and still finished as WR 26 (see Reed’s 2024 in first video below- Click Watch on YouTube). Reed’s current consensus ranking is WR 42. The last time the Packers drafted a WR in the first round, back in 2002, I was a young lad. This year they took speedster Matthew Golden. You’re probably thinking, well the consensus rankers must have just ranked Golden higher than Reed to make up the difference. Nope, Golden is currently ranked at the bargain basement price of only WR 64! I sound like a used car dealer- ugh! I mean I’m not even a die-hard Reed and Golden fan, but after I saw where they were being ranked, I was like, okay…well hell, if nobody wants them, I’ll gladly take them. They’re both good players. I know Jordan Love isn’t Johnny Unitas, but he’s not exactly chopped liver either. I mean someone in Green Bay is going to catch his passes.

I guess what I’m saying is that if you’re in a deeper league and the two fall, you just might be Golden? Did you honestly expect me not to say a cheesy joke when talking about WRs in the land of cheese? Obviously you guys just don’t know me at all, haha!

Emeka Egbuka LONGSHOT PICK
Chris Godwin is recovering from a dislocated ankle. it’s unclear if he’ll be ready to start the season. If he isn’t or suffers a setback or if anything happens to Mike Evans, Emeka Egbuka is there to pick up the pieces. The Bucs used their first round pick to take the talented rookie. Egbuka is a good route runner who possesses good hands. He’s also very intelligent and mature. Emeka has the character coaches and NFL execs love. There’s no diva, off the field, knucklehead baggage worries here. With a current consensus ranking at WR 58, Egbuka seems very cheap given his talent and the potential to play a big role on a team which figures to be in a lot shootouts.

Keep an eye on Chris Godwin’s health this summer. If Godwin isn’t ready, Egbuka could be a nice sleeper in 2025. And even though Baker is currently ranked a little high for Ringo at QB 7, I still think he’ll have a decent year. And to all of you other drafters out there, if you smell a delicious crispy aroma after Ringo picks Emeka in your draft, that’s not your nose playing tricks on you. It’s a little bit of “eMake & Bake”. Doesn’t that catch phrase just blow your mind? That just happened! It rhymes. They’re both verbs…sort of. Haha!

Ringo’s comp- Ironically enough, Emeka Ebuka reminds me of his teammate, Chris Godwin

Kyle Williams LONGSHOT PICK LARGER LEAGUES 12+ TEAMS WITH DEEP ROSTERS

If there's one word I would use to describe Kyle Williams it's explosive. Williams plays faster than his is 4.40 forty time from the combine, which is impressive. And while Kyle probably won't be a high volume guy, his calling card is big plays. Remember Paul Revere's fantasy ride.....one if by land, two if by sea, and you're going to want to see Kyle Williams play. The Drake Maye and Kyle Williams connection could provide plenty of celebratory musket shots for Patriots Nation.

Ringo's comp- Kyle Williams reminds me a little of former Carolina all-pro WR Steve Smith.

Ringo's 2025 WR Busts

When it comes to the consensus ranking of these players, Mark Ringo thinks The Price is Wrong, B*tch! Haha!!!

Puka Nacua POTENTIAL BUST
PUKA NACUA Things were looking real good for Puka until Los Angeles went out and signed Davante Adams. Unlike former Ram Cooper Kupp, Adams has been relatively healthy for most of his career. That’s bad news for Puka, who will probably play second fiddle to Adams. As if that's not enough, here's an interesting nugget I heard from fellow fantasy analyst Smitty which I'll paraphrase, "Puka has played 29 games so far in his NFL career, he has a total of only 9 TDs"! Even if it’s a 1A/1B situation between the two WRs, Ringo thinks Adams will eat into enough of Nacua’s targets to make his current lofty consensus ranking at WR 4 very risky.

Ladd McConkey NO LONGER A BUST CANDIDATE
(7/17) UPDATE Mike Williams unexpected announcement that he’s retiring bumps Ladd up[ a few rungs for me. Say what you want about the oft injured Williams, but when he played, he did well. And Mike was certainly a threat to steal red zone looks from Ladd. Without Williams there, I’m bumping up McConkey in my rankings. I would say he’s fairly valued as opposed to being a bust candidate now. Keep an eye on the Chargers to see if they bring in another veteran, but as of now, this bodes well for McConkey, imo. I’ll keep him in this article for entertainment purposes only (see video below).

Ladd is good, but his current consensus ranking at WR 11 is a little high for Ringo in Half Point PPR leagues. He’s not a protypical WR 1. He’s not big or fast enough. I’m out.

However, he’s got a cool name when it comes to a commercial jingle. Hello, he’s Young Mc with a story to tell. He just got a free cup from Taco Bell. I’ve had that damn jingle in my head for literally thirty-five years. And now I’m passing the torch on to the next generation.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba POTENTIAL BUST
I
n seventeen games last season, Smith-Njigba had over one-hundred yards only three times and scored six TDs. Njigba just doesn’t have the speed or burst to generate big plays. He’s a slot WR, which is great in PPR leagues, but not as valuable in Half PPR settings. And while the departures of D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett leave a vast amount of targets there for the taking, Seahawks new starting QB, Sam Darnold, gives Ringo reason for pause when it comes to Smith-Njigba's fantasy outlook. Darnold laid an egg last year in the playoffs for the Vikings and that was in the weather controlled dome of State Farm Stadium, not outdoors in the rain and sleet of the Pacific Northwest. Smith-Njigba’s current lofty consensus ranking at WR 12 is way too risky for fantasy football’s king salmon, Mark Ringo.

Tee Higgins
I like Tee’s talent, but his current consensus ranking at WR 13 is a little high for a guy who missed some games last year. In addition, the Bengals have this other WR named JaMarr Chase who’s pretty good and garnishes a lot of red zone looks. If you can get Tee later, then I’ll sign off on it, but WR 13 is too risky, imo. Drafters that pick Tee too early could be crying like this koala after she was kicked out of her tree if things don’t work out, haha!

D.J. Moore POTENTIAL DISAPPOINTMENT
Well on July 17th I posted an update that the Bears weren’t happy with rookie WR Luther Burden. Naturally, like clockwork they signed him to a lucrative rookie deal the next day, so they can’t be that upset with him. Because of that news, I’m dropping Moore down a few spots.

The Bears got better in the offseason, (they drafted and signed WR Luther Burden and TE Colston Loveland) unfortunately for DJ Moore his fantasy outlook didn’t get better. All of a sudden there’s a lot of mouths to feed in Chicago, even if you have Dinty Moore Beef Stew. For that reason, I’m probably passing on Moore in 2025. What’s the secret to Mark Ringo’s incredibly bad jokes? Lots of practice, haha!

Zay Flowers
How does the saying go? April showers bring Zay Flowers or something like that? Flowers is current ranked at WR 22. That’s too high for a WR on a team that likes to run the ball, imo.

Chris Godwin
Godwin is coming off an injured ankle and that could limit his effectiveness and games, at least in the early part of the year. The better play is either Mike Evans or rookie Emeka Ebuka, imo. Both are at least heathy coming into 2025.

Chris Olave
The word on the street is that the Steelers have checked in with New Orleans on Chris Olave’s availability in a trade. Nothing is definite, but it’s something to monitor. And we’re still waiting to where Kirk Cousins gets traded to. There are still things that need to be sorted out this summer, but for now Olave is a Saint.

Derek Carr’s shocking retirement means it’s either Spencer Rattler or rookie Tyler Shough at QB, at least as of now. Maybe that will work out, but I’m steering clear from Saints players in 2025. However, despite my skepticism, can we get a little chant? O-La Vay O-Vay O-Vay…. O-La-Vay…. O-La-Vay

Jerry Jeudy
Love his talent, but hate the situation. When a forty year old QB is the best QB on your team, things are looking bleak. And if the Browns’ season goes south, they could turn to one of their youngsters. That’s usually a recipe for disaster. At least when it comes to top shelf comedy my readers don’t have to worry because Ringo’s jokes never go south. Haha!

Brandon Aiyuk
I just saw Brandon Aiyuk's current consensus ranking at WR 41, and almost fell over. I think some of my fellow analysts have been enjoying too many beverages this summer. They never had to rehab from a gruesome knee injury. I have. Brandon Aiyuk is coming off major reconstructive knee surgery for two of his ligaments (ACL & MCL) which was done on November 12th. And, I'm telling you, there is no way Aiyuk will be anywhere close to a top forty WR in 2025. Don't believe me? Okay, let's go back to last summer. How did Nick Chubb and T.J. Hockenson do after tearing both of their ligaments (note, I said something similar for their fantasy outlooks last year)? Go ahead, look it up. I'll wait.......Ringo thinks it's time for drafters to "Escape from Aiyukatraz" and go with Jauan Jennings instead.

Cooper Kupp
Cooper Kupp is good when he’s healthy, unfortunately he can’t stay healthy. The Rams finally gave up and now he’s in Seattle. Sam Darnold is a major downgrade compared to Matthew Stafford. Between injury risk and a downgrade at QB, I don’t see any positives for Kupp’s 2025 outlook.

Rashod Bateman
Rashod Bateman is ranked too low to be considered a bust. He’s on a team likes to run the ball and is the third or fourth option. This writeup/video is solely for entertainment purposes. Don’t settle for Bateman when you can have Batman, I guess that would make me the Joker. Terrorizing all of Gotham City with my bad advice and terrible jokes. Any last words?

Just one. It’s a long one…..dermatologist. Haha!!!

Ringo's 2025 TE Sleepers

*Note- some of these calls aren’t sleepers just players I think could have a good year. It’s difficult to find a true sleeper in today’s fantasy football landscape, but I’ll do my best to uncover some longshots in larger leagues or leagues with deeper rosters.

Brock Bowers
The only concern with Bowers is the new coaching staff in Las Vegas. It’s possible they could go more run heavy with highly touted rookie RB Ashton Jeanty aboard, but it’s still hard to imagine Brock Bowers having a bad year. He showed why he was one of the most heralded TEs to come out of college. The Raiders should score more TDs, which is good news for Bowers.

I am Ringo founder of The Ringo Kwon Do Fantasy Football System. After one week at my fantasy website you’ll be prepared to draft with the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom of a man. Ok I need a volunteer. You’ll do. Bow to your sensei. Bow to your sensei!!! Haha!

George Kittle
Deebo Samuel was traded and Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from a torn ACL. In addition, the 49’ers defense isn’t as stout as prior years which would force the Niners to keep passing. As long as George’s worlds don’t collide, the pieces are in place for George Kittle to have a good year, if he can stay healthy. My doctor says I have Kittlespox.

Sam LaPorta
The Spanish term la puerta means door. So if opportunity knocks on your door to grab a TE on a good offense like LaPorta, Ringo thinks you should answer it.

Travis Kelce
Does Travis Kelce have anything left in the tank? That’s the million dollar question. Of course, if you don’t have a million dollars you can save by bundling your Mahomes with MaAuto at State Farm. No? Nothing? Hey, I could have put a video of Taylor Swift cheering for MaAuto here instead so quit your griping, haha!

Kelce still had 97 catches last season in what was a down year for him. That's a lot of catches in my book. The good news is that a lot of folks are writing him off in 2025. Ringo, you don't even know what a write-off is? No, but they do and they're the ones writing him off, haha! With a current consensus ranking at TE 7, I’m willing to take a shot with Kelce, who still has one of the best in the business throwing to him in Patrick Mahomes. Best bundle in the league baby! Haha!

Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland is loved by NFL execs. One anonymous exec said, Loveland is going to catch a ton of passes. They’re are a lot of mouths to feed in Chicago, but make no mistake, Loveland will be a big part of their offense. His current consensus ranking at TE 15 is cheap enough to take a risk on a rookie who could be this year’s Sam LaPorta. The only concerns are how long it takes Loveland to assimilate into the Bears’ offense. As of this writing Cole Kmet is still in Chicago. He could be traded, but as long as he’s still there, that cuts into Loveland’s numbers, at least a little in the early part of the season. Caleb Williams also needs to take a big step. And while I don’t think Loveland is as heralded a prospect as Brock Bowers was last year, Loveland is still talented enough to make an impact if things break right.

Colston’s name reminds me of Thurston Howell III from Gilligan’s Island. And when it’s all said and done, he might be as rich as Mr. Howell & Lovey in a few years.

Side note- how come the batteries never run out in the radio on Gilligan’s Island, but yet my batteries run out constantly in my flashlight?

Hunter Henry
If you end up waiting on TE, Hunter Henry seems like a good late round target to bet on. He’s reunited with former offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels. Back in 2021, under McDaniels, Henry had one of his best seasons 50 receptions 603 yards and 9 TDs. Henry finished as TE 9 in 2021.

McDaniels returns to Foxborough, this time under new head coach, Mike Vrabel. And with Drake Maye seemingly ready to take another step forward, the pieces seem to be in place for Henry to have a good year. Henry’s current consensus ranking at TE 17 seems cheap given the improved situation for 2025. Oh Henry- it’s like taking candy from a baby, haha!

Kyle Pitts LONGSHOT PICK
Jesus, if the Falcons owned a funeral parlor, no one would die! When it comes to feeding Pitts, these turkeys (Falcons) are totally brain dead! I guess they’re giving lectures on how to lose fantasy titles.

Last year should have worked. However, not many analysts, including myself, saw Kirk Cousins’ total collapse. He fell off a cliff last year. If Cousins played better, maybe Pitts would have had a better year.

If you’re out on Pitts, I get it. His talent coming out of college should have produced better fantasy numbers by now. I’m a glutton for punishment. He’s so cheap, that I’ll roll the dice on Kyle and hope Michael Penix can create some magic. Also, keep in mind another possiblity for tapping Pitts’ potential is a trade. The word on the street is that teams have reached out to the Falcons about Pitts. I believe one of them is the Chiefs who need a future replacement for Travis Kelce. What a dream pairing that would be- Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Kyle.

I still believe, but I’m making sure I grab another TE or two in case Atlanta keeps mucking up the works. I mean how can one team consistently screw up the fantasy outlook for so many talented players?

Zach Ertz
At age 34, Ertz isn’t the youngest pup on the block anymore. He’s no longer the go-to guy that the offense revolves around. The days of 78 receptions and 800 yards are most likely gone. However, one thing Ertz can still do is be a secondary option who catches passes. And that’s valuable on a team with the offensive firepower that Washington has. If you remember nothing else, remember this…..that after the elite tier of TEs are gone, picking a good fantasy football TE comes down to who can score TDs, and Washington figures to score a bunch of them in 2025. Jayden Daniels looks like a star and it’s usually good to have your WRs and TEs connected to stars. The Commanders beefed up their offensive line with Laremy Tunsil and rookie Josh Conerly this offseason, which should help bolster Daniels’ numbers. With a current consensus ranking at TE 20, Zach Ertz seems like a good bargain given his favorable situation, as long as your expectations are realistic for the aging veteran.

Mason Taylor LONGSHOT PICK

I’m not sure if the Jets will have enough passing yards to make Taylor a fantasy factor, at least this year. That said, if you’re looking for a talented longshot, Taylor fits the bill. His dad is former Dolphins all-pro EDGE Jason Taylor. And like his dad, Mason is very athletic. He has the speed and quickness to be a matchup nightmare for defenders to cover.

How good is Mason Taylor? Nick Saban said during the NFL Draft coverage “that not landing new Jets TE Mason Taylor was the biggest recruiting mistake we ever made” during his time at Alabama. LSU beat Saban’s Crimson Tide on the games final play, a successful two-point conversion pass from Jayden Daniels to Mason Taylor. Note that Taylor was a pure freshman at that time. Also worth mentioning, that LSU had some serious star power on their team with WRs Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. and head coach, Brian Kelly, still had the confidence to call the decisive play for Taylor.

With a consensus ranking at TE 27, there are worse dart throws to make than gambling on a talented young rookie like Mason Taylor.

Ringo's 2025 TE Busts

Here are some players that I don’t like in 2025. Some could be busts, while others seem overvalued with their current price tag (consensus ranking being too high). Can we get a little background music please? Aha!

Jonnu Smith / Pat Freiermuth

(6/30) UPDATE- Jonnu Smith has been traded to the Steelers. This lowers his value and incumbent TE Freiermuth’s, too. So, my bust call probably won’t classify as a bust after the other analysts lower their rankings of him. Smith’s consensus ranking was at TE 7 before the trade. I expect his consensus ranking to drop into the high teens or twenties. Even though Steelers’ offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, uses two TEs, Smith still had his best year in Miami. The Dolphins’ defense isn’t as good which forces Miami to pass more often. They dinked and dunked a lot of passes to Jonnu to keep Tua from getting hit. Bottom line- Jonnu Smith’s and Pat Freiermuth’s outlooks look bleak in 2025.

The fantasy football Gods are funny sometimes. For years, I had Jonnu Smith as one of my sleepers picks. He did nothing. And then the one damn year I don’t have him, like clockwork, he does great. I swear sometimes these players do this on purpose just to piss me off, haha. Because of that we asked JoBu to help Jonnu. However, someone took one of his offerings and he was traded to the Steelers, haha!

Note- how in the movie, “Major League”, Pitcher Eddie Ross, has JoBu next to him in the bullpen as he warms up at the end of the scene, haha!

Evan Engram POTENTIAL BUST
Evan Engram is a good player, but it’s hard for me to see him thriving in the Mile High City. The Broncos' defense is better than the Jaguars. The domino effect of a having good defense means they'll be less likely to pass, imo. Also, while Bo Nix is good, he's not elite. Also worth noting, Engram's best games came when the Jaguars' starting WRs went down with injuries. In addition, Engram’s hamstring issues could flare up more frequently in a cold weather city like Denver. Evan Engram is good enough to make me look foolish with this call, of course my readers would respond..."Ringo my man, that ship has sailed," haha!

David Njoku POTENTIAL BUST
Love his talent, but hate the situation. When a forty year old QB is the best QB on your team, a lot of the time, things are not good brother. And if the Browns’ season goes south, they could turn to one of their youngsters sooner rather than later. That’s usually a recipe for disaster.

The Browns have gone too far this time. Imagine an offense without a good, young QB. We (fantasy football drafters) should be provided a decent QB, not foraging for leftover fantasy point morsels, like some stranded Brazilian soccer team. I mean at least Bill from NewsRadio had sexy, redhead Beth (played by Vicki Lewis) to look at. We’ve got nothing. All I ask is that you all stand behind me when I march into Browns’ headquarters and demand better. I swear. I will not let you down. Now, if you’ll excuse me. I have a fantasy football article to do now. Haha!

Dalton Kincaid
Talk about me doing a 180. As recently as last week, I had Kincaid on my sleepers list. However, it sounds like Bills GM Brandon Beane wasn’t exactly pleased with how Kincaid’s 2024 season went. The former first round pick was banged up and his number suffered. I’m starting to think, he might not be built to handle a full season in the NFL. Even if he plays, the injuries clearly rook a toll on his performance.

Kincaid is good enough to make me look really stupid with this call, but unless he really slides in drafts (and that’s in a large league with deep rosters), I’m probably out on him this year.

Jake Ferguson
George Pickens joins CeeDee Lamb creating a very potent WR room. That’s good news for the Cowboys’ offense, but could be bad news for Jake Ferguson. Both Pickens are Lamb are red zone threats with their size. TE 12 seems a tad high, given the talented WRs Ferguson will have to compete with for targets. This could be the conversation drafters have with Jake after the season. This is the conversation Ringo always has with his readers after the season, haha!

Jake, you miserable slug. You think you can talk your way out this? You betrayed us.

It’s not my fault. Honest, I ran out of gas, I had a flat tire, I didn’t have enough money for cab fare, my tux didn’t come back from the cleaners, an old friend came in from out of town, someone stole my car, there was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts. It’s not my fault, I swear to God!!!

I'm Never, Never Gonna Give You Up

'Cause I found what this world is searching for
Here, right here
I don't have to look no more
And all my days
I've hoped and I've prayed
For someone just like you
After I watched you play

I’m never, never going to give you up
I’m never, ever gonna stop
Stop the way I feel about you
My team just can’t live without you

I’m never, ever going to quit (giving bad advice and telling my bad jokes), ‘cause
Quitting just ain’t my shtick
I’m gonna to stay right here with you
Do all of the (fantasy football analyst) things, you want me to

Whoa, I'm never gonna give you up
I'm never, ever gonna stop
All the things I feel about you
My team just can't live without you

My Untouchable List for Trades- Some of these players are too good, while others I just like more than most folks. Can we get a little Barry White music in the background please?

QB
Josh Allen- I know Josh Allen has lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, but he’s just so talented. He’s a physical beast near the goal line. I’m not joshing when I say I’m not quitting Allen.

Jayden Daniels- If Jayden can stay healthy, he’s a fantasy force. He’s a more accurate version of Lamar Jackson, which is a scary combo. Daniels’ thin frame and injury history were the concerns I had about him coming into this year. Despite a shaky offensive line, Jayden has stayed healthy and turned into a star.

RB
Saquon Barkley- Saquon has found the fountain of fantasy greatness again. The Eagles haven’t even been at full strength on offense and Barkley has been incredible. If A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jalen Hurts can stay healthy, Saquon should do even better.

Derrick Henry- Worries from the fantasy community about King Henry’s demise from old age have been greatly exaggerated. He’s been a human tank in the Ravens’ offense, just like I thought he would. To all of the doubters, off with their heads.

David Montgomery- This past week versus Dallas, Monty showed why I thought he was ranked too low in the consensus rankings. Detroit is one of the most potent offenses in the league and he’s one of the benefactors. Fade Monty at your own peril.

Jahmyr Gibbs- Gibbs hasn’t even had a monster game yet and he’s still having a solid year. His speed allows him to gobble up yards by the truckload. Jahmyr’s ability to contribute, both, as a rusher and receiver, makes him a valuable fantasy weapon.

WR
Marvin Harrison Jr.- Marvin has shown why he’s an elite WR. A concussion last week, knocked him out, but talent wise he’s everything I had hoped for and more. If the Cardinals can give Kyler time to pass, Harrison should do well.

JaMarr Chase- Joe Burrow’s wrist has held up so far, but the concern is the Bengals’ offensive line. If Burrow can stay upright, Chase has the ability to light up the league.

Jameson Williams- Jameson has finally showed the talent he showed at Alabama. I knew the consensus rankings were way too low on him with an average ranking of WR 47. I wish he’d get more volume, but the touches he’s gotten so far have been electric.

TE
Kyle Pitts- Some analysts criticized both, Pitts and Marvin Harrison Jr., saying their separation wasn’t good enough. They were implying that neither had the talent to be successful in the NFL. I think they’re nuts. Harrison proved them wrong in week 2 after he finished as WR 1. Pitts is starting to come on. I have no concerns regarding his talent. I think he’ll continue to get better once he and Cousins get more familiar with each other, and with the new playbook.

Brock Bowers- Bowers has already shown his talent, and now with trade rumors coming from Las Vegas about Davante Adams, combined with Jakobi Meyers’ injury, I’m betting Bowers’ fantasy value could soar into the stratosphere.

Taysom Hill- Hill had a two TD game when he fractured his ribs. Those can linger, but if he comes back, Taysom could become the Saints goal line RB. And if that happens, Hill becomes an elite fantasy TE.

2024- Week 3 Ringo's Favorite Buy Low, Sell High Candidates

Who is your favorite buy-low trade candidate at this point in the season and why? Also, who are you willing to give up for him?

TE KYLE PITTS
Jesus, if the Falcons owned a funeral parlor, no one would die! When it comes to feeding Pitts, these turkeys are totally brain dead! Okay week two is over and business is business. The Falcons played two tough defenses to start the season in the Steelers and Eagles. Their schedule gets easier (remember they get to play Carolina and Tampa Bay twice each). In addition, Atlanta is still learning a new offense. As the season wears on, things should run more smoothly. I would trade Sam LaPorta, Mark Andrews, or Dalton Kincaid for Kyle Pitts. So when it comes to buying low, listen to Gordon Gecko Ringo, "Blue Horseshoe loves Kyle Pitts, especially while his stock his cheap. Remember, fantasy wealth is seldom lost or made, but simply transferred from one drafter to another, like magic. For example, I drafted Jameson Williams late in my draft. I could trade him today for a lot more. The illusion has become real. And the more real it becomes, the more desperate they want him."

Who is your favorite sell-high candidate at this point in the season and why? Also, who would you try to get in return?

WR TYREEK HILL
Tua's third concussion in less than three years was horrible to see. I'm that praying he's okay. Like it or not, the NFL season moves forward and so must Miami. The most valuable commodity I know of is information. Wouldn't you agree? And no matter how you slice it, without Tua, and with a banged up offensive line, the entire Dolphins' offense takes a major hit. So when it comes to selling fantasy stocks, listen to Gordon Gecko Ringo and sell Tyreek Hill while his name value is still high, because his actual production might not be. Fantasy football is a zero sum game pal- somebody wins, somebody loses. And if you want a friend, get a dog. But if you want a shot at the title, get Marvin Harrison Jr.
