Ringo's 2025 WR Busts

When it comes to the consensus ranking of these players, Mark Ringo thinks The Price is Wrong, B*tch! Haha!!!

Puka Nacua POTENTIAL BUST
PUKA NACUA Things were looking real good for Puka until Los Angeles went out and signed Davante Adams. Unlike former Ram Cooper Kupp, Adams has been relatively healthy for most of his career. That’s bad news for Puka, who will probably play second fiddle to Adams. As if that's not enough, here's an interesting nugget I heard from fellow fantasy analyst Smitty which I'll paraphrase, "Puka has played 29 games so far in his NFL career, he has a total of only 9 TDs"! Even if it’s a 1A/1B situation between the two WRs, Ringo thinks Adams will eat into enough of Nacua’s targets to make his current lofty consensus ranking at WR 4 very risky.

Ladd McConkey NO LONGER A BUST CANDIDATE
(7/17) UPDATE Mike Williams unexpected announcement that he’s retiring bumps Ladd up[ a few rungs for me. Say what you want about the oft injured Williams, but when he played, he did well. And Mike was certainly a threat to steal red zone looks from Ladd. Without Williams there, I’m bumping up McConkey in my rankings. I would say he’s fairly valued as opposed to being a bust candidate now. Keep an eye on the Chargers to see if they bring in another veteran, but as of now, this bodes well for McConkey, imo. I’ll keep him in this article for entertainment purposes only (see video below).

Ladd is good, but his current consensus ranking at WR 11 is a little high for Ringo in Half Point PPR leagues. He’s not a protypical WR 1. He’s not big or fast enough. I’m out.

However, he’s got a cool name when it comes to a commercial jingle. Hello, he’s Young Mc with a story to tell. He just got a free cup from Taco Bell. I’ve had that damn jingle in my head for literally thirty-five years. And now I’m passing the torch on to the next generation.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba POTENTIAL BUST
I
n seventeen games last season, Smith-Njigba had over one-hundred yards only three times and scored six TDs. Njigba just doesn’t have the speed or burst to generate big plays. He’s a slot WR, which is great in PPR leagues, but not as valuable in Half PPR settings. And while the departures of D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett leave a vast amount of targets there for the taking, Seahawks new starting QB, Sam Darnold, gives Ringo reason for pause when it comes to Smith-Njigba's fantasy outlook. Darnold laid an egg last year in the playoffs for the Vikings and that was in the weather controlled dome of State Farm Stadium, not outdoors in the rain and sleet of the Pacific Northwest. Smith-Njigba’s current lofty consensus ranking at WR 12 is way too risky for fantasy football’s king salmon, Mark Ringo.

Tee Higgins
I like Tee’s talent, but his current consensus ranking at WR 13 is a little high for a guy who missed some games last year. In addition, the Bengals have this other WR named JaMarr Chase who’s pretty good and garnishes a lot of red zone looks. If you can get Tee later, then I’ll sign off on it, but WR 13 is too risky, imo. Drafters that pick Tee too early could be crying like this koala after she was kicked out of her tree if things don’t work out, haha!

D.J. Moore POTENTIAL DISAPPOINTMENT
Well on July 17th I posted an update that the Bears weren’t happy with rookie WR Luther Burden. Naturally, like clockwork they signed him to a lucrative rookie deal the next day, so they can’t be that upset with him. Because of that news, I’m dropping Moore down a few spots.

The Bears got better in the offseason, (they drafted and signed WR Luther Burden and TE Colston Loveland) unfortunately for DJ Moore his fantasy outlook didn’t get better. All of a sudden there’s a lot of mouths to feed in Chicago, even if you have Dinty Moore Beef Stew. For that reason, I’m probably passing on Moore in 2025. What’s the secret to Mark Ringo’s incredibly bad jokes? Lots of practice, haha!

Zay Flowers
How does the saying go? April showers bring Zay Flowers or something like that? Flowers is current ranked at WR 22. That’s too high for a WR on a team that likes to run the ball, imo.

Chris Godwin
Godwin is coming off an injured ankle and that could limit his effectiveness and games, at least in the early part of the year. The better play is either Mike Evans or rookie Emeka Ebuka, imo. Both are at least heathy coming into 2025.

Chris Olave
The word on the street is that the Steelers have checked in with New Orleans on Chris Olave’s availability in a trade. Nothing is definite, but it’s something to monitor. And we’re still waiting to where Kirk Cousins gets traded to. There are still things that need to be sorted out this summer, but for now Olave is a Saint.

Derek Carr’s shocking retirement means it’s either Spencer Rattler or rookie Tyler Shough at QB, at least as of now. Maybe that will work out, but I’m steering clear from Saints players in 2025. However, despite my skepticism, can we get a little chant? O-La Vay O-Vay O-Vay…. O-La-Vay…. O-La-Vay

Jerry Jeudy
Love his talent, but hate the situation. When a forty year old QB is the best QB on your team, things are looking bleak. And if the Browns’ season goes south, they could turn to one of their youngsters. That’s usually a recipe for disaster. At least when it comes to top shelf comedy my readers don’t have to worry because Ringo’s jokes never go south. Haha!

Brandon Aiyuk
I just saw Brandon Aiyuk's current consensus ranking at WR 41, and almost fell over. I think some of my fellow analysts have been enjoying too many beverages this summer. They never had to rehab from a gruesome knee injury. I have. Brandon Aiyuk is coming off major reconstructive knee surgery for two of his ligaments (ACL & MCL) which was done on November 12th. And, I'm telling you, there is no way Aiyuk will be anywhere close to a top forty WR in 2025. Don't believe me? Okay, let's go back to last summer. How did Nick Chubb and T.J. Hockenson do after tearing both of their ligaments (note, I said something similar for their fantasy outlooks last year)? Go ahead, look it up. I'll wait.......Ringo thinks it's time for drafters to "Escape from Aiyukatraz" and go with Jauan Jennings instead.

Cooper Kupp
Cooper Kupp is good when he’s healthy, unfortunately he can’t stay healthy. The Rams finally gave up and now he’s in Seattle. Sam Darnold is a major downgrade compared to Matthew Stafford. Between injury risk and a downgrade at QB, I don’t see any positives for Kupp’s 2025 outlook.

Rashod Bateman
Rashod Bateman is ranked too low to be considered a bust. He’s on a team likes to run the ball and is the third or fourth option. This writeup/video is solely for entertainment purposes. Don’t settle for Bateman when you can have Batman, I guess that would make me the Joker. Terrorizing all of Gotham City with my bad advice and terrible jokes. Any last words?

Just one. It’s a long one…..dermatologist. Haha!!!
