Ringo's 2025 RB Busts

It’s time for everyone’s favorite fantasy football game show where drafters try for big time players and try to avoid the whammy. It’s time to Press Your Luck! Below are the intro and extended theme songs.

Here are some players that I don’t like in 2025. Some could be busts, while others seem overvalued with their current price tag (consensus ranking being too high).

Kyren Williams
I’m not sure if I’d call Kyren a bust, but maybe a potential disappointment. While Kyren played all seventeen games last season, plus the playoffs, it’s clear he wore down. He wasn’t able to consistently generate big plays. Kyren garners a lot of his fantasy value from volume, not from explosive runs. And that’s a dangerous bet to make if he suddenly loses some of that volume.

In addition, Williams is in the final year of his contract. It’s noteworthy that instead of extending him, the Rams traded up in the draft to select Jarquez Hunter. Hunter was First Team All-SEC at Auburn. One of the big reasons why is his ability to take it the distance. The Rams could spell Williams more with Hunter or last year’s pick Blake Corum. With a current consensus ranking at RB 11, Kyren Williams seems like a risky pick in 2025.

Josh Jacobs
In his first year with the Pack, Jacobs had a solid year. He scored a whopping 16 TDs. That seems unsustainable. However, Jacobs only rushed for over 100 yards in three games. Marshawn Lloyd was injured much of last year. Both he and Emmanuel Wilson figure to spell Jacobs enough to be a thorn in his fantasy side. Jacobs is a good player, but his current consensus ranking at RB 9 seems too high, especially if his TD total comes back down to earth.

However, throughout their storied history, when it comes to Packer legends, there is only one man that comes to mind. He dazzles both on and off the field. First he cut to his right, then he cut to his left, then he ran 100 yards for a TD! Women want him and guys want to be like him. Okay two men…..Phil Packer and Mark Ringo. Haha! (click Watch on YouTube in the videos below)

Chase Brown
Chase “The Buster” Brown proved me wrong last season. Despite the Bengals going out and signing Zack Moss, Brown won the gig and rewarded drafters with a solid season.

Yo Ringo, why did you mention that The Buster had a good year?

Because last year, The Buster kept many fantasy drafters from missing the playoffs. He didn’t just run back to the bench. The Buster brought them back!

However, that 2024 discount price is long gone. If you want him in 2025, it’s going to cost you. Brown’s current consensus ranking is RB 12. That’s too risky for Mark Ringo. Even with Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase healthy last season, Brown only had one game over one hundred yards. Cincinnati also brought in former Bengal, Samaje Perine. Perine will probably spell Brown on third downs. He’s very good in pass protection. That’s bad news for Brown who gained 360 receiving yards last season. Perine is also bigger than Brown and a threat to vulture TDs if the Bengals want to deploy him there. When it comes to picking Chase at his current ranking, I’m sure drafting him is completely safe. Haha!

You know Ringo….you still owe us readers a lame, ten second pun.

Bottom line- Ringo isn’t “Chasing” Brown’s lofty 2025 price tag. Ahem…thanks for coming out tonight. I’m here all week. Please remember to tip your servers, haha!

Breece Hall POTENTIAL BUST
Breece Hall is still being valued pretty high for a RB who is no longer a bell cow RB. In fact, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has hinted of a committee- possibly as large as three RBs comprising of Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis. We'll see if that turns out to be the case, but one thing is for certain, Breece Hall has had a difficult time staying healthy. Last season, Hall once again struggled with injuries, which limited his effectiveness. In addition, it's hard to imagine Hall's reception total going up without Aaron Rodgers at QB. Justin Fields is younger and faster, and much more likely to take off and run when there is pressure rather than dumping off a pass to his RB in the flat. Hall's 2025 fantasy outlook seems risky given his expensive price tag (current consensus ranking at RB 13).

Kenneth Walker III POTENTIAL BUST
The Sam Darnold, I know and love, finally showed up last year and saw ghosts in the playoffs, when the Vikings got smoked by the Rams in Arizona, even with a partisan Vikings' crowd cheering them on. Seattle coughed up $100 million for Darnold, which is a huge gamble considering how bad he looked in the playoffs. Without the stout Vikings' defense, offensive line, and weather controlled climate to support him, I think Darnold will find the going to be a lot tougher in Seattle. That's bad news for the Seahawks' offense, where young “Sky” Walker needs a lot of TDs to justify his current, lofty ranking at RB 16. And before you go….know this…….Kenneth, I am your father. No, not really. I can’t back that up, haha!

Alvin Kamara
Derek Carr’s sudden retirement means that New Orleans’ QB will be between Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, or rookie Tyler Shough as of early May. An optimist would say, “Hey, they’re just unproven.” The Saints could also try to trade for Kirk Cousins, but until then, the offense and fantasy prospects look bleak in the Crescent City.

As good as Kamara is, I do have major concerns about the Saints’ offense in 2025, That wasn’t bs. I mean really, what’s the point in picking him? New Orleans figures to struggle to score TDs this year. I’m not from New Orleans. I don’t plan on moving to New Orleans, so who cares if they score TDs or not? They could be Olympic gold medalists it still wouldn’t change the fact that Kamara doesn’t have a Carr.

It’s not that I condone picking players on the Saints with shaky QBs or any team with shaky QBs, for that matter. Shaky QBs, in my opinion, are not good for fantasy points. A person should not believe in a team with a shaky QB. He should believe in himself.

I quote John Lennon, “I don’t believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.”

Good point there. After all, he was The Walrus. I could be The Walrus. I’d still have to bum rides off people if I want Kamara to get into the endzone in 2025.

Tony Pollard
Titans coach. Dave Callahan. indicated that they want to reduce Tony Pollard’s workload. He wore down in the second half. Remember, he also wore down when he was the primary RB in Dallas two years ago. Expect Tyjae Spears and possibly rookie Kalel Mullings to siphon more touches away from Pollard. Mullings could vulture short yardage and goal line carries since he’s a bigger RB and a better option to handle the punishment a RB takes in close quarters. Cam Ward could upgrade the Titans’ offense, however, less touches and possible getting pulled at the goal line makes Pollard a risky bet in 2025.

Aaron Jones POTENTIAL BUST
Aaron Jones isn’t getting any younger. He’s had injury issues in the past. The Vikes brought in Jordan Mason to help ease his workload. Mason is bigger and will probably get the call in short-yardage and at the goal line. The following scene is blurred out because some tv networks are a bunch of tools. Seriously, no one even remembers some of these sit-coms from over twenty years ago. I’m actually doing them a favor by promoting them. Anyway, even though the video is blurry, you can still listen to the audio. It’s pretty funny. Pencil, haha!

Travis Etienne
The word on the street, per Jeremy Fowler at ESPN, is that the new regime in Jacksonville is not very high on RB Travis Etienne. Remember it was former Jaguars’ GM Trent Baalke who drafted Etienne, not current GM James Gladstone. Gladstone drafted Bhayshul Tuten and he could takeover the starting gig at some point this season if the Jaguars hang on to Etienne. Unless Etienne goes to another team, his outlook for 2025 seems iffy.

Rhamondre Stevenson
The writing appears to be on the wall for Rhamondre. Stevenson fumbled seven times last season. The Patriots thought so little of Stevenson that they drafted TreVeyon Henderson in the second round. New coach Mike Vrabel and current GM Elliot Wolf won’t put up with turnovers. At best, Stevenson will be part of a RBBC. At worst, he’ll ride the pine or be cut. Stevenson current ranking at RB 34 is a wicked pissah (translation- seems pretty high for a RB who appears to be on the outs in New England).

Matthew Berry, Andy Behrens, and Evan Silva are all rock stars in this industry, now I’ve got to show the fantasy football world what I can do.

What up fantasy football fans!! For your consideration, here comes fantasy football’s biggest up and coming star…..Mark Ringo!!! Ringo doesn’t mean to be the dunk king when it comes to Rhamondre’s 2025 outlook, but fantasy fans who draft Stevenson at his current ADP could be looking at another Boston Massacre. Do you like donuts in your lineup? How do you like them donuts? I’m sorry. I had to. Haha!

Cam Skattebo
Cam is a hard nosed runner, whose greatest strength is his ability to break tackles. How tenacious is Cam? He reminds me of Uncle Pecos from Tom & Jerry. He never gives up until he gets his guitar (pronounced) “geetar” string, haha! (see videos below part 1 and part 2)

However, the main issue I have is his lack of speed and explosiveness. Cam is downright slow for a RB (forty time 4.65). That might cut it in the Big 12, but not in the NFL, especially when you have to play the defending champion Eagles twice a year who have Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis clogging the middle. The lack of speed, combined with the Giants' shaky offensive line, is not a good combo for a player currently ranked at Rookie RB 7, imo. Ringo does love saying his name though...Skattebo!!!
